PARODY – From Kathy Miller

This is called “We fall to pieces,” and if any of your young people think it’s not true, I have news for you.

We fall to pieces,  just when it’s time to have fun.  We fall to pieces. From all the work that we’ve done.   We go out and buy brand new RVs, just so that we – can see this country.
And we scrimp and we save for the golden years. Now they’re here and we fall to pieces.

We fall to pieces. Just when we’re having a ball. We fall to pieces. Each time we forget our Geritol.  They told us to go out and exercise a lot. That it would help our heart.  And we wouldn’t see those spots. But each time that we get down, we can’t get up. We retire and we fall to pieces.

Now we’re gonna pick up the pieces. And add hearing aids, bifocals and plates. Guess what else we added. 14 inches to the waist. These gray hairs just keep on getting company. And the laughing lines are spread all over our face. Let’s hope these old feet will still hold us up. Cause if they don’t, we’ll all fall to pieces.  Let’s have fun while we fall to pieces.

[C] I [F] fall To [G7] pieces [F] each time I [G7] see you [C] again. I [F] fall To [G7] pieces. [F] How can I [G7] be just your [C] friend

You [G7] want me to act like we've [F] never kissed. You [G7] want me to forget. Pretend we've [C] never met. [C7] And I've [F] tried and I've [G7] tried, but I [C] haven't yet. [C7] you walk [F] by, and [G7] I fall to [C] pieces.

I [F] fall To [G7] pieces, [F] each time [G7] someone speaks your [C] name. I [F] fall To [G7] pieces
[F] Time only [G7] adds to the [C] flame.

You [C7] tell me to find someone [F] else to love, [G7] someone who'll love me too - The way you [C] used to do. [C7] But each [F] time I go [G7] out with [C] someone new.
[C7] You walk [F] by and [G7] I fall to [C] pieces.
[C7] You walk [F] by and [G7] I fall to [C] pieces
