Morning has [C] bro-[Dm]-ken [G] like the first [F] morn-[C]-ing,
Blackbird has [Em] spo-[Am]-ken [D] like the first [G] bird.
Praise for the [C] sing-[F]-ing, [C] praise for the [Am] morn-[D]ing,
Praise for the [G] spring-[C]- ing, [F] fresh from the [G] Word. [C]

[ C Dm7 G F C ]  Sweet the rain’s new fall sunlit from heaven,
[ Em, Am, D G ]  Like the first dewfall on the first grass.
[ C F C Am, D ]  Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden,
[ G C, F G C ]  Sprung in completeness where His feet pass.

[ C Dm7 G F C ]  Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning,
[ Em, Am G ]  Born of the one light Eden saw play.
[ C F C Am, D ]  Praise with elation, praise every morning,
[ G C, F G C ]  God’s re-creation of the new day.
